Naam…Jibon, a unique show was arranged in tribute to the legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee
Yesterday a tribute show was arranged in the memorial of the legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee at Rabindra Sadan. According to Chatterjee’s daughter Poulami, her theatre group Mukhomukhi arranged the whole ceremony to give a tribute to her father and guru after his demise.
A memorial service titled ‘Naamjibon’, commenced yesterday at 5 pm at Rabindra Sadan, where more than 200 guests were present to
confer a grand salute to his works which will always be cherished across the world.
Srijato has penned a few lines for the occasion in Bengali, Not to mourn but to celebrate/Not to cry but to memories liberate/Not to sigh but words of love, whisper/So it may blow in the wind, forever!”
The evening was all about celebrating his passion, it was all about paying tribute to one of the greatest artists of this country. A few eminent people from the film industry turned up and they gave narrations about Soumitra babu’s passion for acting.
Arindam Ganguly, Bratya Basu, Srabani Sen, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Gautam Bhattacharya were present to enlighten the ceremony.
The ceremony celebrated the video clips of the late actor and the guests performed their bits by singing, reciting Soumitra Babu’s works to cherish his memories forever through his grand works.
