Kalna scientists got international recognition. Stanford University in the United States recently released a list of the top 2 percent of scientists in the world. Sanjeev Gangopadhyay, a former student of Kalna Maharaja High School in East Burdwan, has been included in that list. Originally, he was recognized for his research on electrical energy distribution.
Sanjib Babur’s house is in Baghnapara village adjacent to Kalna city. He passed secondary from Baghnapara High School. He studied 11th and 12th classes at Kalna Maharaja High School. He graduated from Jadavpur in Electrical Engineering. Then he did his PhD from Kharagpur IIT.
