Actor, director and vocalist Jagannath Guha passed away at around 4 am on Tuesday. He was admitted to Woodland Hospital. The veteran actor recently lost Kovid-19, but Kovid later died due to problems. He had been suffering from kidney problems for a long time. Although Corona was released, the old problem came up recently. The veteran artist could not take the trouble of dialysis on Monday. 

Jagannath Guha was the former Dean of SRFTI, the most prestigious film school in Kolkata and East India and a founding member of the Short Film Associations. Jagannath Guhar’s career is full of many colors. He has touched all genres of entertainment. From the small screen to the big screen, the stage was everywhere. One of his most memorable works is ‘Solution X’, ‘Abaar Jakher Dhan’, ‘Manorama Cabin’, ‘Ogo Priyatma’, ‘Bar Bou Khela’. 

Jagannath Guha is the face of well-known and acclaimed films like ‘Namesake’, ‘City of Joy’, ‘Purushottam’, ‘Ghare Baire Aaj’. He was also skilled as a director. Mitraniketan Vellanad, directed by Jagannath Guha, won the Best Educational Film award at the 1987 National Film Awards. Jagannath Guha has acted in the play Arohan with Soumitra Chatterjee. Natyadal has worked as an advisor to ‘Jigir’. Shilpi Mahal mourned his death. A condolence message has been issued on behalf of the Artists Forum. Shankar Chakraborty, the acting president of the forum and an actor, wrote on the Facebook wall, ‘Jagannath Guha, the director of my first serial, has passed away, stay in peace, Jagada’. Jagannath Guha was the former Dean of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and a founding member of the Short Film Association. He acted in many films including ‘Namesake’, ‘City of Joy’, ‘Purushottam’. He was also an assistant to longtime film directors Gautam Ghosh and Buddhadeb Dasgupta. Acting chairman and actor Shankar Chakraborty of Artist Forum said – ‘My first director left in the serial. May his soul rest in peace. ‘
