Yesterday, December 23, the DRDO was able to successfully launch a medium-range missile from the ground into the air (MRSAM) at 3:55 pm as per the pre-scheduled time limit of the test, Press Trust of India reported.
The missile was built by Bharat Dynamics Limited in a joint study by DRDO and Israel’s Aerospace Industries. One of its advantages is that it is capable of simultaneously targeting multiple targets spread over a radius of more than 50 kilometers in the sky.
This news was also tweeted by DD news. The missile is fired from a ground mobile launcher. The target of the test was an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This missile successfully ‘shot down’ the target. As a precautionary measure, the Balasore district administration temporarily evacuated 8,100 people within a 2.5km radius of the launch pad. The Prime Minister of India has been talking about a self-reliant India for a long time.
It is understood that at least the defense sector is emphasizing that statement and the mantra of ‘Make in India’. DRDO – himself reported the matter on social media. With the incorporation of this deadly missile into the force, the effectiveness of combat in the Indian Armed Forces is expected to increase significantly. In 2019, the Indian Navy successfully tested the MRSAM, which greatly enhanced its anti-air warfare capabilities. Now, this success of the missile test will not only strengthen India but also the foreheads of Pakistan and China.
