Everyone is more or less aware of the plight of the Hindu community in Islamic Bangladesh. Often there are reports of jihadi attacks on the Hindu community. In the current Islamic Bangladesh, the leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League are also continuing their torture and aggression against the Hindu community in tandem with the jihadists. Although the Awami League claims to be a ‘non-communal’ party, in reality the picture is quite the opposite. The Vigraha temple of King Laxminarayan Ji, about two and a half years old, is located at Narayanganj in Islamic Bangladesh. The temple was established in the late 1800s by King Bikhan Lal Thakur in the name of the god Narayan. This temple is associated with the naming of Narayanganj. Narayanganj city mayor Selina Hayat Ivy has been trying to seize this devotional property of Hindus worth more than Rs 100 crore, including temples and land, by making fake documents. As the city mayor and an influential leader of the ruling Awami League, the administration is silent.
In protest, the Hindu community of Narayanganj united on February 8 and organized a mass rally on the banks of the Deobhog Zeus pond. Thousands of Hindus from Narayanganj joined the rally. From the rally, the Hindu leaders issued a stern warning against this jihadi aggression, declaring that if necessary, lives would be given, but the temple would not be allowed to be occupied. Even with life, Narayan’s temple will be protected. After that, the agitated Hindu crowd marched around the whole city at once Earlier too, the Hindu masses of Narayanganj had protested against this jihadi aggression. But as the administration did not take any action, all the Hindu people of Narayanganj united again and took to the streets. However, only time will tell whether the Awami League government, which is currently the bearer of jihadi consciousness, will become more aggressive towards the Hindu community or take any action against this jihadi aggression.
