Scam Leela, Director Rishav Ghosh’s Thriller Comedy Released on SVF Movies


Kolkata, 4 April 2021: Scam Leela, a short film directed by Rishav Ghosh released on SVF Movies YouTube Channel today. This short comedy thriller throws light on call center scams on foreigners by Indian call centers, with a twist in the end. The film written by Pinaki Ghosh has actors like Suvosmita Mukherjee and Judhajit Sarkar, who are popular names in Bengali OTT platforms.

Scam Leela, produced by Amity School of Film & Drama is a comedy around a scammer who scams foreigners using her international call center. The film, which is a blend of comedy and thriller genres takes a thriller like dive before a final unexpected twist in the end.

Rishav Ghosh, the young director who has directed films like Synthetic Sati (streaming on Hoichoi and Amazon Prime Video). Agamani (streaming on Addatimes) and the upcoming Hindi film Dekho But Pyaar Se, won the DadaSaheb Phalke Film Festival Best Director Award (student category) in 2019 said this is his first attempt to make a comedy and hopes viewers will enjoy this as a comedy-thriller.

Rishav said Scam Leela is his 8th film with Suvosmita Mukherjee as the lead actress, who has earlier appeared in Rishav’s films Drishtika, Synthetic Sati, Agamani, Dekho But Pyaar Se, Intrueder, Muscle Life ad film, Greenfield City ad film; and 1st film with Judhajit Sarkar.

Scam Leela was filmed in Newtown, Laketown and Bangur Avenue areas of Kolkata in November 2020 shortly after film shoot started after the pandemic. Rishav had planned to shoot his web series Onyobhubon in 2020, which was postponed due to the pandemic, so he started working on Scam Leela, a smaller project instead. The post production was completed by December 2020. The film released on SVF Movies on 4 April 2021.
