27(9%) female candidates are contesting in the West Bengal assembly election 2021 Phase VI: WBEW Report

Kolkata:- Through the press conference West Bengal Election (WBEW) associate with ADR (Association For Democratic Reforms) has shared details of the candidates contesting in the sixth phase West Bengal Assembly Election in which reveals that Out of 306 candidates analyzed, 87 (28%) candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves. On the other hand, 5 candidates have declared cases related to murder (IPC Section-302) against themselves. 22 candidates have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC Section-307) against themselves. Ujjawani Halim State Co-ordinator of WBEW has informed that this information has filled by candidates itself on the Election Commission website. The good sign gets to know is that there are nearly 27(9%) female candidates are contesting in the West Bengal assembly election 2021 Phase VI.
Additionally, it also reveals the educational background of candidates as well and it shows 129(42%) candidates have declared their educational qualifications to be between 5th and 12th standard while 165 (54%) candidates have declared having an educational qualification of graduate or above. Four candidates are Diploma holders. One candidate is Illiterate and Seven candidates are just literate.
In every phase, WBEW released the analysis of criminal, financial, education, gender, and other details. Areas that WBSE covered during phase VI are North 24 Parganas part II, Naida party II, Purba Burdwan Part II, North Dinajpur.
