BSF troops of the South Bengal Frontier apprehended one smuggler red-handed along with 319 bottles of Phensedyl kept hidden inside an ice cream trolley. The total price of which is Rs 79541/-. These phensedyl bottles were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh through the Border of Farzipara, district- Murshidabad. This is not the first case of smuggler that outburst by BSF earlier also 2 women caught red hand while smuggling.
BSF officials informed that on the basis of reliable inputs in connection with the smuggling of Phensedyl, the troops of the Border in the Berhampore sector got alerted on the border and after which the troops saw a suspected ice cream vendor moving towards International Boundary (IB). Troops have stopped the vendor and searched the suspected ice cream vendor, in they recovered 319 phensedyl bottles kept hidden inside the ice cream trolley. The suspect has been identified as Suraj Mandal (20) hail from Jalanjil, District -of Murshidabad, West Bengal.
During interrogation, the apprehended smuggler revealed that he is an Indian citizen and he works as a carrier of phensedyl bottles. However, the apprehended smuggler revealed that he received these phensedyl bottles from Sohail Malitha, and Jafar Malitha who also hailed from Murshidabad but Sohail Malitha lives in Dayarampur, and Jafar Malitha lives in Paraspur. Both are also residents of
Village Bangla Bazaar, District- Kushtia, Bangladesh. After the details noted by the BSF, the apprehended smuggler handed over all the seized items to Police Station in Jalangi for further legal action.
Commanding Officer of 141 Battalion BSF Shri Nagendra Singh Rautela, expressed happiness over the achievements of its troops resulting in the seizure of a smuggler as well as 319 phensedyl bottles and 01 ice cream trolley. He appreciates the officer as troops are fully determined and committed to fulfilling the resolution of Zero smugglings crimes that carry out at the border.
