Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar has informed through social media that Central Government decided to supply approx 1 crore 92 lakh of COVIDVaccines to States/UTs, free of Cost, between 16th-31st May. So, far the reports of vaccine shortage have come from most of the states including the capital of India New Delhi but this announcement becomes a hope during such a situation.
Reportedly, the allocation of the Government of India supplies to the State/UT is decided on the consumption pattern and beneficiary load for 2nd doses during the upcoming fortnight. During the 16th-31st May 2021 fortnight, 191.99 lakh doses of Covishield and Covaxin will be supplied to the States and UTs, free of cost. This will include 162.5 lakh of Covishield and 29.49 lakh of Covaxin.
