Kolkata:- Today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addresses a press conference at Nabanna in the presence of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait. Tikait has been leading the protest against the Centre’s farm laws, demanding that the three acts be withdrawn.
While interacting with media Banerjee said, “you all know I started farm protest from singur. Though my entre support is with the farmer.” Following the statement of Mamata Banerjee, Tikait said “We thank her for this assurance. West Bengal should work as a model state and farmers should be given more benefits.” Subsequently, the General Secretary of the BKU has first congratulated Mamata Banerjee and then elicit her support for the move to give farmers a fair MSP for their crops.”
