Amit Shah is demanded to remove Dhankar


After meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, Trinamool demanded for the removal of Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. On Wednesday, Trinamool Lok Sabha leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay sought Amit Shah’s time to brief him on the topic of Bogtui incident. He got an appointment with Amit Shah on Thursday at 1pm .

After meeting Amit Shah, Sudip said, “In the context of the Rampurhat incident in Birbhum, we have said that the Governor of West Bengal should be removed. His actions are against the constitutional system. As a result, the parliamentary democratic process is facing problem”. Sudip said that a copy of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s letter to the governor had been handed over to Amit. He claimed that the Chief Minister is handling the situation very well. Till now 21 people have been arrested and 15 police officers have been sent on leave. Sudip also claimed that the culprit cannot escape from severe punishment.

After the incident at Bogtui village, BJP MPs met Amit Shaha in Delhi and demanded central intervention in Bengal. BJP MLAs led by state opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari made similar demands to the governor. Governor criticized the state government with a written statement as well as a video message. Objecting to this the Chief Minister sent a letter to the Governor. In this context, a 13-member party of Trinamool MPs led by Sudip demanded the removal of the governor on meeting the Home Minister.
