All the wait went to waste. Although the Chief Minister visited Bogtui village, she did not meet the family members of the late Deputy Chief Minister of Barashal Panchayat Bhadu Sheikh. Kebina Bibi, the wife of Bhadu, is a little upset about that. She said, “My husband was killed for supporting TMC. I thought Didi would come to the village and meet us. But I don’t know why she didn’t come.” Sheikh, through Bhadur’s father, complained, “My son was the head of 18 villages. He was killed because he could not share his fortune!” Bhadur’s father complained, “My son was the head of 17 villages. He was killed because he could not share his fortune!”

Bhadu Sheikh was killed on Monday night. Bhadu’s family members left the village just hours after his body was buried on Tuesday. However, before the arrival of the Chief Minister, on Thursday morning they were brought back to Bogtui village under strict police guard. However, arrangements were made to keep them in separate tents, not in their own homes.

Many thought that the Chief Minister might talk to the members of Bhadu’s family during her visit to the village. Many followers of Bhadu were also present there. Although the Chief Minister came and talked to the family members of the burnt victims, she did not meet the family of Bhadu. After leaving the village, Mamata went straight to Rampurhat Medical College Hospital to see the injured.

BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said on the same day, “The chief minister had not met Bhadu’s family. Because, he can no longer bring vote for TMC from the grave! So there is no need to visit his family. They are now looking for someone else. “
