The government will organize special camps to solve the problem of ‘student credit card’

Chief Minister Mamata Bandyopadhyay has introduced ‘Student Credit Card’ to enable students to get easy loans for higher education . But in many cases it is seen that for not giving necessary documents on time the students are getting their cards late. Again, due to inexperience, many students are not able to apply properly for loans. There are still many errors after submitting the documents. Therefore, the state government has taken initiative to eliminate this problem of students. The state has decided to organize special camps across the state in the first week of April to help the students.

Last Saturday, Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi had a meeting with the district administration on the topic of student credit card. Sources said that discussions are being held on how to deliver these student credit cards to the students faster. After the meeting, all the district magistrates from Navanna have been directed to make arrangements so that the applicants can submit all the required information and documents quickly. Along this, they have to do special camp at the concerned bank branch. The camp will start from 7th April.

In a function at the Netaji Indoor Stadium recently, the chief minister said, “No one should face any difficulties to get the advantages of Student Credit Cards.” Since the ‘guarantor’ of this loan is the state government itself, it is very easy for students to get loan for higher education. Although some banks initially hesitated to lend to the project, the state government held regular meetings with the bank authorities to facilitate the lending. Till now 1 thousand 600 crore rupees has already been sanctioned for the student credit card scheme. About 20,000 students in the state have been given these credit cards.
