Governor summoned the Chief Secretary on Monday regarding harassment of Vice Chancellor of Alia University

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar summoned Harikrishna Dwivedi, the state’s chief secretary, expressing concern over the incident of harassment at Alia University. He tweeted on Sunday that the chief secretary had been asked to report the latest situation by 1pm on Monday regarding the “viral situation” reflected in the video. “In a situation where criminals are without any fear of the law, it is a horrible sight for law-abiding people.” Dhankhar tweeted. He also shared the video of harassment of the Vice Chancellor along with his tweet.

This is not the first time. Earlier also, the governor had summoned the chief secretary to Raj Bhavan on several issues. In some cases, the chief secretary went to the palace and in some he never went. Therefore, there is a question in the administrative circles as to whether the Chief Secretary will respond to the Governor’s call at 1 pm on Monday and appear at the Raj Bhavan at all. This is because the government of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has clashed with Raj Bhavan on several issues since he took over as the governor in July 2019.

Incidentally, Giasuddin Mondal, a Trinamool student leader, threatened to slap the Vice Chancellor of Alia University. Ghiyasuddin and a few other also created chaos in the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The release of this video caused a storm of condemnation in the educational society. Police has arrested the accused student leader on Sunday.

In the viral video, Ghiyasuddin is heard saying addressing the Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Ali, “I will slap you on the cheek. Slap hurts a lot. Ask your boys that you have.” After that, the accused student leader was arrested by the police of Techno police station on Sunday.
