Kejriwal promises free pilgrimage, free power if AAP forms government in Gujarat

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal today promised free pilgrimage for senior citizens to various religious places, including Ayodhya and Kashi if his party was voted to power in the Gujarat Assembly polls. He also criticised the ruling BJP for “failure” on multiple fronts despite being in power for nearly three decades.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday promised free pilgrimage to all senior citizens in Gujarat and asked them to “vote fearlessly” in the upcoming assembly polls, accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of “failure” on multiple fronts despite being in power in the state for nearly three decades.

In his first rally in the poll-bound state after forming a separate unit of the party here, Kejriwal said if the AAP was voted to power in Gujarat, senior citizens would get free pilgrimage of various religious places every year. The party will also grant free electricity supply to houses having a power bill of up to Rs 2,500 per month and provide laptops and tablets to children studying in government schools, he added.”If you elect us, we will take care of all your problems. This is a new promise – now people say nothing truthful will come out of their mouth,” Kejriwal said at a public meeting in CTM at Rajkot.

In a speech laced with sarcasm, attacked the BJP for failing to deliver on its promises and holding a “jhappan session” instead of satisfying the needs of farmers. He also promised free pilgrimage to senior citizens.
