Not ready to accept defeat, National Conference vice president on Saturday said his party is not ready to accept defeat and will continue its peaceful struggle for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah said on Saturday his party is not ready to accept defeat in the wake of abrogation of Article 370 and is all set to carry on its peaceful struggle for the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Asserting that the National Conference was not ready to accept defeat in the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370, party vice president Omar Abdullah on Saturday said his party would continue its peaceful struggle for the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Abdullah said, “I would like to reiterate that abrogation of Article 370 was unconstitutional, unlawful and an exercise in deceit.” He added, “The NC is not willing to accept defeat or give up the struggle for rights of Jammu & Kashmir people. We shall continue our peaceful struggle through democratic means by contesting elections whenever they are held.”
In an interview to news agency ANI, Abdullah said the Constitution of India continues to apply in Jammu and Kashmir despite the abrogation of Article 370. “We are not giving up on our struggle for rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. We will continue this peaceful, democratic struggle.”
Continuing his strike against Article 370 abrogation, National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Saturday said, “Article 370 was never an issue for any political party in Jammu and Kashmir”. “They had never been part of it. It was about status quo between India and Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.” No constitution in the world gives special status to states within a state. And we all know that this is a temporary provision”, he said.
