Cinema halls to reopen for the audiences

After three months of closure, the state will allow 50% seating capacity following every Covid protocol from July 31.

Good news for the cine-lovers! Ready to watch movies on the big screen again? Leaving behind the small screening of the phone and hovering over the OTT movie release. Cinema halls will open their doors for the audiences next month.
After three months of closure, the state will allow 50% seating capacity following every Covid protocol from July 31.
The news came as a breath of fresh air for all the Multiplexes, Members of the core committee for the Film department, and for the audiences.
It is to be heard that reopening might take some time. Director Raj Chakraborty added, “The first notification on Thursday had missed the point regarding reopening of cinemas. We are thankful that despite being so busy in Delhi, our chief minister listened to Tollywood’s request to remove the restriction from cinemas. An additional notification was issued about this later.” On this specific issue, Piya Sengupta the President of Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA) written a letter to the Chief Minister regarding the problem faced by the Entertainment industry. She thanked Aroop Biswas for supporting the cause.
Some even said, “Some exhibitors don’t have the cash to pay dues to distributors. Availability of staff and infrastructure has to be assured. We may consider opening from August 6 if all members agree.” Not just the group members even the Multiplexes are too happy after hearing such news.
However, 16 cinemas in Bengal will open based on operational readiness. No doubt such a decision by the state government will bring back the normalcy for the company.
According to Sujit Kumar Bhakta, GM (east) of Carnival Cinemas, is looking at a “stage-wise reopening” from August 5. Distributor and exhibitor Satadeep Saha said, “We have formed a committee in EIMPA with eight members who will promote cinema-viewing in theatres. We will soon release content on social media to encourage people to return to cinemas.”
But the question is how long will the doors of the Cinema hall remain open? Keeping with 50% workers and customers will they earn half of its payment or not?
