Jio and Google tie-up cheapest smartphone on the way

Dhiraj Das: RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani launched the Jio smartphone, Jio next on 26 June, at the 44th RIL AGM event. The smartphone is a result of the partnership between two big tech giants, Reliance Jio and Google. The smartphone will be available from September 10.
Reliance chairman Mukhesh Ambani and Google CEO Sundar Pichai were in talks from the previous year. In India, almost 300 million people still using the 2g network because basic 4g smartphones are unaffordable for many.
This smartphone running an optimized version of Android will be very affordable yet with lucrative features like the translate now feature, read on-screen text option, good camera facility, and much more. Users also can access the Google Play store and download the Android app via the play store.
Ambani has emphasized the word “affordable”, so it’s going to be the cheapest smartphone not only in India rather all across the globe.
Ambani says, after rolling this mobile out in India, they have plans to take it beyond India as well.
