Kangana Ranaut on facing health complications for Thalaivi says, gaining and losing 20 kg has left her with ‘permanent stretch marks’


The Padmashree actress Kangana Ranaut has earned critical acclaim for her power-packed performance in ‘Thalaivii’. The ‘Queen’ star, who played the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the film, received praises from all the corners. It was not a cakewalk for Kangana as she had to gain 20 kilos for her role in the biographical drama. The National Award-winning actress made waves with her massive transformation for the film.

The biopic Thalaivii showcases various stages of the late Jayalalithaa’s life, from being a young actor to a senior politician. For this, the Queen actor had to undergo a major physical transformation several times.
She recently took to Instagram to share her experience, detailing that doing all that in six months left “permanent stretch marks”.
“Gaining 20 kgs in 6 months and loosing it all within 6 months that too in my thirties messed up many things in my body… I also have permanent stretch marks as well but art comes to life with a price and more often than not price is the artist him/herself,” she wrote.
Ealier too in an interview the actress had mentioned , “In my 30s, I had to gain 20 kgs for Thalaivi and do Bharatanatyam, it left my back severely damaged but no bigger gratification than to play a role to perfection.”
