Bumba da= Industry..!

Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee is a living legend, icon of Bengali cinema. From commercial films to mainstream to artistic presentation Prosenjit Chatterjee have delt with every single one. During the time when the industry was almost on the verge of perishing, he brought it back to life. The single man who rescued the industry when it needed someone to pave a way for the future generation to take films forward.
Even when they were cringe-worthy masala films, over-due dialogues, dance numbers and over the top costumes his movies managed to get people to the theatres. Prosenjit was a man of promise! An one man army.
The movies which he delivered later in his life are worthy to be called ‘I am a proud Bangali’. He is nowhere near to stop, even age is just a number for him. In fact, when he realised that the industry is doing well and youngsters are taking the legacy ahead, he decided to do meatier and meritorious roles. On his birthday, the icon of many and hero to millions turn 59 years old (30th September). His smile can still be a killer, his moves can make one go gaga over him and his character sketches make the critics feel safe that Bengali Industry is in safe hands even it is for couple more years. He is thus respected and revered a lot in the industry.
Till date director Srijit Mukherjee directed Autograph will always remain a game-changer for Prosenjit’s carreer. It’s not that the actor didn’t do good movies earlier, he did but his commercial fares won more hearts. After Autograph, Bumba Da’s movies never fail to impress the audience. Be it 22se Srabon, Prakton, Sob choritra kalponik, Moner Manush and many more.
Guess what it wasn’t Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan with whom the forever beautiful Rani Mukerji debuted in Indian Film Industry. It was Prosenjit Chatterjee with whom Rani was paired with. The film is titled ‘Biyer Phool’.
